Farzad, I think it's important to recognize there is a difference between cultural and political events. iFest was a non-political event.

Secondly, what MSU does is not education. It is propaganda. A significant portion of what they "educate" you about is lies. This year their speaker Anna Baltzer said "Israel is not a democracy." Another speaker, Malik Ali told a student he was lying when Ali was questioned about Hamas' corruption, even though the student provided authentic sources from the Palestinian government. One other speaker claimed that "the Jews" were the ones who planned the attacks on 9/11. Does this sound like "education" to you?

Speakers such as Alan Dershowitz, who AFI brought earlier this year, provide more of an educational approach. Dershowitz is pro-Israel and pro-Palestine, and he objectively (not hatefully like MSU speakers) dissected the conflict, and encouraged students of all perspectives to engage in dialogue with him to discuss possible solutions.

I find it sad that while MSU is actually educating people about the atrocities of the past sixty years you guys are throwing a party with free drinks. There is a reason why MSU is kicking you a-word.
